What’s Happening?
One In Six Considering A Fully Plant-Based Christmas In The UK, Poll Finds: One in six people in the UK are considering hosting a fully plant-based Christmas, according to a new poll by World Animal Protection. The poll asked 2,000 people in the UK what they planned to eat at Christmas.
The woman running a tiny vegan pie shop that completely sells out most weekends: Sophie Scott, who moved to Cardiff to start her own business, began The Pie Box in 2020 and has faced the pandemic, cost of living crisis, and long working hours to make her dream successful.
Camden councillors unanimously agree to 100% vegan catering as swathes of local governments move away from meat: Camden Borough is the latest council to turn its back on animal products. The ruling states all food and drink offered at internal meetings and events should be vegan – as a way of addressing the climate crisis.
Which UK Supermarkets Are Selling Vegan Pigs in Blankets This Christmas?: Aldi this week announces that, as it is reportedly the most popular supermarket in the UK for vegan products (whereas Lidl was found to be the most affordable for vegan Christmas foods), it is adding to its Christmas offering with new Plant Menu Ultimate No Pigs in Blankets.
‘Vegan’ and ‘plant-based’ labels branded ‘off-putting’ in new study that says shoppers prefer ‘healthy’ or ‘sustainable’ foods: The study found that only 27 percent of consumers selected the ‘plant-based’ hamper, while a fifth (20 percent) opted for the ‘vegan’ one. However, a staggering 42 percent were drawn to the same basket that was labelled ‘healthy’ and 43 percent to the one described as ‘sustainable’.
Plant-Based Liqueurs for a Very Merry Vegan Christmas: These plant-based liqueurs, ranging from rich almond-infused varieties to smooth, oat-based formulations, cater to a broad market segment, including vegans and those exploring dairy-free options, offering an indulgent experience perfectly suited for the festive season.

What’s Cooking?
We’re loving BOSH! recipes at the moment. Although this week it’s more what’s baking than cooking. This Yule Log turned out delicious on the trial run so it’s on the menu for Christmas dessert!
Quote of the Week
“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.”
