Welcome to VedgyVoice #9. This week we have another cracking asian style recipe from BOSH!, a look at two of the most popular plant-based ready meal services. As well as vegan shrimp, new Pukka ‘no steak’ pies and slices, the best festive sandwiches and the Chicken Run sequel that’s going to (hopefully) get people thinking about the brutal realities of factory farming.
What’s Happening?
Chicken Run sequel ‘Dawn Of The Nugget’ predicted to spark ‘biggest ever’ wave of veganism: "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget," the sequel to the popular "Chicken Run," addresses the grim reality of intensive factory farming. The film, set to debut on Netflix on December 15, 2023, follows the characters Ginger and Rocky as they uncover the horrors behind a theme park's façade, revealing the mistreatment of animals in factory farms. The film's impactful scenes, particularly the portrayal of the animals' distress, are expected to influence viewers towards veganism, much like the original film. Director Sam Fell, inspired by the film's message, adopted a meat-free diet during its production. The film's approach is praised for not being 'preachy' but still effectively conveying its message.

What’s Cooking?
It was another tasty fakeaway style BOSH! recipe on the menu this week, Sticky Orange Tofu. This was another winner. Deliciously sweet and tangy. You can really taste the orange flavour without it being too overpowering. Another dish to add to the regular rotation!
Quote of the Week
“Three times a day I remind myself that I value life and do not want to cause pain or to kill other living beings. That is why I eat the way I do.”
